Facilities and Resources

In 2005 the school was designated a specialist sports college and with this development came a major upgrade to many of the school's facilities. We benefit from an excellent range of modern sporting amenities which are complemented by the impressively high standard of other resources throughout the school.

Our considerable investment in high-quality teaching staff and technical support ensures that everyone can learn effectively. Our first-class facilities include a sports hall, gymnasium, dance studio, purpose-designed rooms for drama and music, superb art and technology facilities and food studies rooms and well-equipped science laboratories. The school also has its own swimming pool, tennis courts and artificial turf football pitch and further improvements to our canteen have produced a new refectory for our year 11s.

Most classrooms have computer facilities, supplemented by interactive whiteboards, and there are ample dedicated computer suites. The school library incorporates a fully computerised learning and resource centre that is available to all students throughout the day.

Learning and teaching throughout the school are further supported by our Learning Gateway'. This is an IT platform that provides all of our staff and students with access to a wide range of tools and resources.
